The CW Develops Show Based On The “Roswell High” Books
Did you nearly fall off your chair, yesterday? Our hearts definitely missed a beat when all those Roswell cast photos showed up in our Twitter timeline.
The CW is going back to Roswell, well kind of.
The network teamed up with “The Originals” producer Carina MacKenzie and according to THR, they are working on a “timely reboot based on the Melinda Metz book Roswell High”.
While a “revival” can be a straight up continuation with some familiar faces on screen yet done in a way to appeal new people or even a prequel, this particular project is a re-imagining with a different storyboard picking up on “Roswell High”‘s source material. Original actors are not involved in the project.
However, Kevin Kelly Brown will executive produce for Bender Brown Productions. He was among the exec producers on “Roswell”. Find out more and read the official tagline below:
“After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.”
The show is currently in development and if picked up, the alien drama could hit your TV screen sometime next year.
