Shiri Celebrated Female Filmmaker Friday With A Throwback To 1989

Shiri Appleby was among the female Hollywood directors who took to social media on Friday for #FemaleFilmmakerFriday. She wrote: “Somehow I’ve always managed to find my way behind the camera. This was taken on the set of Knight and Daye, an NBC sitcom from 1989. My character was dressed as a pilgrim for her class play. Damn, I’ve been doing this a long time. 😳”

Shiri recently directed an upcoming episode of ABC’s single-camera sitcom “mixed•ish”. She’s the director of two episodes in the latest season of “Light as a Feather” and directed episode four of Roswell, New Mexico’s season two. Started by ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s’ co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna, the hashtag was launched to highlight women and their work behind the camera and to inspire.
