Whatever it Takes: Colin’s next movie
Thanks to ~dazy~ for mentioning this movie!
Colin Hanks has a part in the upcoming movie “Whatever It Takes”, which will be in theaters on March 24th.
This movie summary comes from the upcoming movie site upcomingmovies.com (a very neat site that I keep at the top of my favorites, and well worth a look, if you don’t already know about it).
Premise: A smart but socially clumsy teen boy teams up with a “jock” friend in a plot for the two to woo simultaneously their respective dream dates (O’Keefe, Sokoloff). As you might expect, all does not turn out perfectly…
Okay… so She’s All That was a teen version of Pygmalion; 10 Things I Hate About You rethunk William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew; and Cruel Intentions was a remake of Dangeous Liasons. So, if those films were all successful (they were), do you think this pattern would continue? Do you? Of course.
And so, Columbia Pictures’ entry into the “Spring Teen” market is this teen version of Cyrano de Bergerac (also remade as Steve Martin’s Roxanne), though as far as I know, this version drops the big-nose motiff.
