“7TH HEAVEN” ACHIEVES #3 FINISH IN WOMEN 12-34 IN ITS TIME PERIOD & IS EASILY THE #1-RANKED SHOW IN FEMALE TEENS FOR THE ENTIRE NIGHT“ROSWELL” SCORES ITS BEST RATINGS SINCE NOVEMBER IN ALL KEY DEMOS & ACHIEVES ACROSS-THE-BOARD, YEAR-TO-YEAR GROWTH, INCLUDING +54% IN ADULTS 18-34
BURBANK, CA (April 17, 2001) – The return of original episodes of 7TH HEAVEN and ROSWELL to The WB’s line-up also marked the return of outstanding ratings as the dramas scored their best ratings in months.
7TH HEAVEN scored its best ratings since February in many key areas, including all 12-34 and 18-49 demos, plus adults and women 18-34. The WB’s highest-rated show also ranked #3 in its time period in women 12-34 (4.1), only one-tenth of a point behind an original episode of Boston Public on Fox. 7TH HEAVEN was the top-ranked show of the entire night in female teens (6.1), more than a rating point ahead of the #2-ranked show – The WB’s ROSWELL (4.7) – and more than two points ahead of Boston Public (3.8).
ROSWELL, which returned to the line-up after a six-week hiatus, scored or equaled its best ratings since November in adults 18-34 (2.0), women 18-34 (2.9), men 18-34, persons 12-34 (2.6), women 12-34 (3.4), men 12-34, adults 18-49, women 18-49 (2.3), men 18-49, teens (4.0) and female teens (4.7).
ROSWELL also scored dramatic year-to-year time-period increases in adults 18-34 (+54%), women 18-34 (+61%), men 18-34 (+22%), persons 12-34 (+53%), women 12-34 (+55%), men 12-34 (+42%), adults 18-49 (+42%), women 18-49 (+35%), men 18-49 (+50%), teens (+48%), female teens (+38%), male teens (+65%), households and total viewers (+30%).
For the night, The WB, which scored across-the-board, year-to-year gains, was #3 among all networks in women 12-34 (3.7), #1 in female teens (5.4) and tied for #1 in total teens (4.3).
