Brendan Fehr is putting together a golf tournament for a special cause
Brendan Fehr took some time to write a news entry for his official website www.brendanfehr.com.
At first he talks about the golf charity events he attended recently.
But the real reason for his post is to announce that he is in charge of putting together a golf tournament for a special cause!
Brendan writes:
“The Word Is Out” is a brainchild of my pastor and it’s such a passion for him that I, along with others, am putting together a golf tournament to raise money for it. “The Word Is Out is an intensive study of the Scriptures comprising various courses on the both the Old and New Testament. The purpose is to provide the student with a rewarding knowledge of the Bible so that anyone can be a more effective witness for Jesus Christ.” I’ve taken part of the course and it’s really great. But more importantly it’s aim and goal is to teach pastors and teachers overseas who don’t have access to materials, courses, education, etc. There’s a lot of men and women that have the desire and enthusiasm to preach the Word but not necessarily the tools. This course is meant to provide those tools so these people of God can teach and preach to their congregations, villages, or students more effectively, with a better understanding of the intricacies and nuances of the Scriptures.
The tournamen is going to take place November 9th, 2009 at Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas, California. The cost per player is $150 which includes golf, cart, and meal, as well as a putting and long drive contest. There will be a silent auction in the banquet room after the round while we stuff our faces. Mulligans will be available for purchase, as will 50/50 and raffle tickets for more chances to win some great prizes.
This will be the inaugural tournament and one we hope will be a great start to a long run. We are looking for players, tee sponsors, donations of gifts and/or services. If you’re not a golfer but would love to attend for the auctions and company, please feel free to invite a friend or two and join us for dinner after. Or better yet, sponsor others to play and meet up with them later for a bite to eat. The details on signup and reserving foursomes will be available soon, as well as contact numbers for any other questions or donations.
I hope to see you all there and if you want to use the site as a way to ask questions, I will be lurking around and will answer them with future updates.
But don’t put ’em in the ask Brendan questions thread cause then I’ll have to sift through them. Just create another one for topics and discussions in regards to the TWIO tourney and that’ll make it easier.
Thanks and God Bless.
