Most LA experience:: I went to audition for Mars Attacks! and I was sitting in the waiting room with this long blond hair to my waist. This old man comes up to me and starts hitting on me, saying he wants to take me out. So I ask him where he’d take me and he said, “How about the Eiffel Tower?” I asked him his name and it was Warren Beatty!

Busted: I lied about my age to get on the show Roswell. I had just done a movie where I had been treated as an adult–there is this legal thing if you’re six months away from your 18th birthday and it’s in the summer, you can work as an adult or something. I assumed that it also applied to a TV show, so I said I was 18 when the director asked. I got called back and the day I was supposed to go in and test, they found out I was 17 because I asked for a studio tutor in my contract.

The Part That Got Away: I was in serious consideration for the Mena Suvari role in American Beauty. I was brought in to meet everyone and I had just cut my long hair. The casting director had totally talked me up and didn’t know I’d cut my hair. So I walked in with short hair and made a face about having an affair with an older man and well, I didn’t get the part.
