THE WB TOPS ALL NETS IN YEAR-TO-YEAR SWEEPS INCREASES IN PERSONS 2+, HOUSEHOLDS, ADULTS 18-34 (+31%), 18-49 (+27%) & 12-34 (19%)

“7TH HEAVEN” KEEPS ITS ROLL GOING BY SCORING BEST ADULTS 18-34 & WOMEN 18-34 SINCE FEBRUARY 1999 & LEADING THE WB TO A 4.2/10 IN WOMEN 18-34 FOR THE NIGHT, WHICH EQUALS THE NETWORK’S ALL-TIME MONDAY HIGH

BURBANK, CA (November 7, 2000) – 7TH HEAVEN’s meteoric ratings capped what has been four days of phenomenal growth for The WB as the November sweep heats up. While The Big Three Networks are all down across-the-board and Fox is eking out some small gains, The WB shows the best growth among all networks in adults 18-34 (+31%), men 18-34 (+78%), persons 12-34 (+19%), men 12-34 (+64%), adults 18-49 (+27%), men 18-49 (+56%), total viewers (+19%) and households (+7%).

This clean ratings growth SWEEP across the board is reminiscent of The WB’s performances every year except its slip due to WGN last season. In the first four days of the sweep, The WB achieved ratings increases year-to-year on EVERY NIGHT of the sweep including Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday.

The latest success story for The WB was its Monday juggernaut as 7TH HEAVEN popped with a 3.5/10 in adults 18-34 and a 5.2/13 in women 18-34, which were both the family dramas best scores in those vital demos since February 1999. Its score in persons 12-34 (4.4/12) and in women 12-34 (6.3/17) were both better than any other rating this season and equaled the best of last season.

7TH HEAVEN, which scored The WB’s best rating of the season on any series in persons 12-34, women 12-34, teens and female teens, also had its best women 18-49 rating (4.8/12) since February 1999 and best adults 18-49 rating (3.5/9) since May 1999. The network’s highest-rated show also set season highs in teens (6.8/20) and female teens (9.3/27), total viewers (9.1 million) and households (5.7/8).

7TH HEAVEN finished first among all time period competition in women 12-34 (6.3/17), tied for second in persons 12-34 (4.4/12) and placed third in adults 18-34 and women 18-34 (3.5/10 and 5.2/13 respectively).

ROSWELL scored season bests in men 18-34 (1.5/4) and men 12-34 (1.9/5). The sci-fi thriller continues to improve the time-period average dramatically across the board, as this week was an extension to its growth story. Vs. the first week of sweeps last season, ROSWELL is ahead in adults 18-34 (+109%), women 18-34 (+82%), men 18-34 (+275%), persons 12-34 (+59%), women 12-34 (+50%), men 12-34 (+90%), adults 18-49 (+67%), women 18-49 (+30%) and men 18-49 (+180%).

For the night, The WB was second among all networks in women 12-34 (5.0/13), its best score dating back to before the 1999-2000 season. The WB also tied its best ever Monday rating in women 18-34 (4.2/10), and set additional season highs in adults 18-34 (2.9/7, its best since May 1999), persons 12-34 (3.6/9, its best since February 1999), women 12-34 (5.0/13, its best since the network began tracking the demo in September 1999), adults 18-49 (2.7/6, its best since March 1999), women 18-49 (3.7/8, its best since March 1999), teens (5.3/15), total viewers (6.9 million) and households (4.5/7).
