‘Roswell’ star in Halifax
One “Roswell” star is making a jump to the big screen.
Jason Behr, who plays Max Evans on The WB show, has taken a role in “The Shipping News,” zap2it.com reports.
Oscar winners Kevin Spacey (“American Beauty”) and Judi Dench (“Shakespeare In Love”) have already signed on for the film, along with Cate Blanchett (“Talented Mr. Ripley”).
The movie is filming in Halifax, N.S., and is being directed by Lasse Hallstrom, who helmed the Oscar-nominated “Chocolat”.
The movie is based on the book by E. Annie Proulx about a reporter (Spacey) who moves to Newfoundland with his daughter after his wife dies in a car accident.
The reporter gets a job writing the shipping news for a small local paper, and has a romance with a single mother (Julianne Moore).
Jason will play Dennis Buggit, whose father owns the newspaper.
