LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) – When “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” moves to its new home this fall it will premiere on UPN with a two-hour episode.

The network says that the special extended “Buffy” will re-introduce the premise of a young woman who’s destined to defend humanity from the things that go bump in the night for new viewers, while moving the story set up by writers Joss Whedon and Marti Noxon forward for faithful fans.

The latest edition of the “Star Trek” franchise will also premiere with a two-hour episode. “Enterprise” stars Scott Bakula and focuses on the history of the galactic upheavel that leads to the formation of The Federation.

Air dates have yet to be set for either premiere, but UPN says that they will start its season in August in order to get a jump on the other networks who typically duke it out amongst themselves towards the end of September.
