Eriq La Salle is currently directing an episode for NBC’s upcoming show “The Night Shift”. The actor, director, writer and producer best known for portraying Dr. Peter Benton on the NBC drama series “Emergency Room” announced the news via his official Twitter page.

He wrote “1st time I’m directing in Albuquerque. Good place to shoot, great cast. “Night Shift” for NBC, new medical drama to look out for.”

Previously titled “After Hours”, the upcoming NBC show centers on Army doctors working the late shift at San Antonio’s best Trauma Center. It stars Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Freddy Rodriguez, Jeananne Goossen, Ken Leung, Robert Bailey Jr, JR Lemon and Brendan Fehr.

Will “The Night Shift” fill the hole left by “Emergency Room”?

In other news, Scott Wolf is going to guest star in four episodes of NBC’s new medical drama. Entertainment Weekly announced exclusively that he will debut in the show’s fourth episode.

A premiere date is not scheduled, yet.
