Grey’s Anatomy Hits Season High

The season finale of medical drama Grey’s Anatomy in which Katherine stars as intern Isobel “Izzie” Stevens, set a season high for viewers on Sunday. It also set all time records for a midseason show.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

The first season finale of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” beat its combined NBC and CBS competition in the 10 o’clock hour by 4 million viewers (22.8 million vs. 18.8 million) and by 62% in Adults 18-49 (9.9/25 vs. 6.1/15).

* “Grey’s Anatomy” earned the highest viewer and young adult numbers for any first year midseason drama finale in the last 14 years – since the start of the Nielsen electronic database in September 1991.

* “Grey’s Anatomy” generated ABC’s top series numbers in the time period in more than 4 years among Total Viewers and in over 5 years among Adults 18-49 – since 2/11/01 and 2/6/00, respectively.

* ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” qualifies as this season’s No. 1 television program on any night in the 10 o’clock hour among Adults 18-49 and among Adults 25-54.
