Yahoo News: Colin Hanks Talks About His New Documentary “Eagles of Death Metal”
Colin Hanks spoke to Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric about this emotional and intense documentary “Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends)” which debuts on HBO on February 13th, 2017.
On November 13th, 2015, the Eagles of Death Metal played a concert at the Bataclan Theatre, when terrorists attacks around the city claimed the lives of 130 people, 89 of them at the rock concert. The documentary follows the band members as they grapple with grief and loss amid their healing process, which ultimately led to a spirited return to performing on the Parisian concert scene in February 2016.
Colin told Katie Couric that he was at work on that day of the attacks and he reached out to the band’s manager to find out what was going on. “It’s unfortunately become an all-too-common occurrence, hearing about attacks like this, but you’re never prepared when it’s your friends that are directly involved,” he told Couric.
