Talking About Spin-Offs

On July 27, 2026, TVLine published an article titled “10 Abandoned TV Spin-Offs We Still Wish Had Happened,” looking back at shows that were considered but never made it to series.

One of the spin-offs featured in the article is The Farm, a proposed spin-off of The Office centered on Dwight Schrute. The backdoor pilot aired as the Season 9 episode “The Farm,” which originally aired on March 14, 2013. Majandra Delfino played Dwight’s younger sister, Fannie Schrute, who was introduced alongside other members of Dwight’s family. Although NBC decided not to pick up the spin-off, the episode gave viewers a glimpse of what the series might have been like.

What if Roswell had gotten a spin-off?
