Various News Bits On Colin Hanks and “Band Of Brothers”

I just wanted to let you know that there was a very small article about
Colin Hanks in the Sunday edition of the Daily Herald (Chicago).
Here’s the article:
“Hanks, son team up: Tom Hanks and his son, Colin, each have rooting
interests in HBO’s upcoming 10-part miniseries, BAND OF BROTHERS. The elder
Hanks is executive producer of the story, which recounts an Army regiment’s
journey through World War II. His son appears in the eighth installment of
the miniseries, which debuts Sept. 9. Colin Hanks made his television
acting debut in the WB series ROSWELL. He is the product of Hanks’ first
marriage to Samantha Lewes.”

newspaper here in Waterbury, CT on Sunday, July 15, 2001: “Tom Hanks-A hand
for his son” Tom Hanks and his son Colin each have rooting interests in HBO’S
upcoming 10-part miniseries “Band of Brothers”. The elder Hanks is executive
producer of the story, which recounts an Army regiment’s journey through
WWII. His son appears in the eighth installment of the miniseries which
debuts Sept 9. Hanks who wasn’t on the set when Colin was filming said he
offered his son no advice. “My son has good chops and I knew it when I saw
him in the junior high school play he appeared in.” said Hanks.

(Pasadena, California-AP) — Smells like nepotism on “Band of Brothers.” That’s the upcoming ten-part series on H-B-O. It’s the true story of an Army regiment’s journey through World War Two. Tom Hanks is executive producer. His son, Colin, appears in one of the episodes. Hanks says he didn’t give Colin any advice. And, he wasn’t even on the set when Colin was filming. Hanks says his son “has good chops.” He jokes he knew his son was a good actor when he saw him in a junior high school play.
