Fox plying new waters for teen thriller
By Charles Lyons
NEW YORK (Variety) – Twentieth Century Fox is in final negotiations to acquire domestic and many foreign territories to the teen thriller “Swimfan,” and hopes to release the film late next summer.
“Swimfan” tells the story of an all-American high school couple whose world is turned upside down by an obsessive, seductive new girl in town. It stars Jesse Bradford, Erika Christensen, Shiri Appleby, Dan Hedaya and Kate Burton. It was directed by Australian filmmaker/actor John Polson.
The picture is a co-production between GreeneStreet Films, which financed critical fave “In The Bedroom,” and Michael Douglas’ Furthur Films.
